PRINCIPAL WORKING OF PIT FURNACE:-

Dross recovered in the rotary furnace is treated immediately in the pit furnace installed wall behind the rotary furnace. The main source of energy to melt dross to make secondary aluminum (97.5%) is furnace oil. The diameter of the crucible in the pit furnace almost 20cm is used mainly. Crucible is placed below 5 feet almost from ground level.
